The primary sysplex where Db2® CI/CD Expert is installed can interact with multiple remote sysplexes. Use the Register sysplex page to add a new remote sysplex and assign a certificate-based proxy user to enable remote actions. Only continuous deployment (CD) operations are supported on Db2 subsystems registered on remote sysplexes.
Before you begin
Ensure that you have completed the following activities:
About this task
A super administrator can register a remote sysplex. After registration, you can register Db2 subsystems on the remote sysplex for continuous deployment (CD) activities. Db2 subsystems on remote sysplexes are not available for continuous integration (CI) activities.
Procedure
To register a sysplex, complete the following steps:
-
Click the navigation menu and select .
The Sysplexes page displays the local sysplex and any registered remote sysplexes. Initially, only the local sysplex tile is displayed, which is read-only. Each sysplex tile indicates whether the sysplex is local or remote.
-
Click Register sysplex.
-
On the Register sysplex page, provide the required field values:
- Name
- Specify a unique name for the sysplex. This name is to distinguish each sysplex within Db2 CI/CD Expert.
-
Note: Only uppercase alphanumeric characters (A-Z, 0-9) are allowed. The value must begin with an alphabetic character. The maximum length is 18 characters.
- Sysplex name
- Specify the sysplex name that is used to identify it on z/OS. The maximum length is 8 characters. This value is verified through the z/OSMF server when registering the sysplex in an enabled state.
Note: A sysplex name can be duplicated in different sysplex objects. Therefore, Db2 CI/CD Expert uses a unique Name value to register and distinguish individual sysplexes.
- Sysplex enabled
- Enabled by default. If you disable it, the sysplex and all its registered subsystems become unavailable to the Db2 CI/CD Expert users and cannot be accessed or managed through REST call until the sysplex is re-enabled. Attempting to register a subsystem on a disabled remote sysplex will prevent the subsystem from reaching the Ready state.
- Default proxy user
-
Select a proxy user from the drop-down to assign the default proxy user for the sysplex.
If there are no existing proxy users, register a new proxy user. For more information, refer to Creating a proxy user.
- z/OSMF address
- Enter the z/OSMF server address to communicate with the remote sysplex.
Note: You cannot enable more than one sysplex with the same combination of z/OSMF address and port. If multiple registered sysplexes use the same address and port combination, only one of them can be enabled at a time.
- z/OSMF port
- Enter the z/OSMF server port to communicate with the remote sysplex. Use the plus (
) and minus (
) controls to adjust the port value.
-
Click Register.
Results
The remote sysplex is registered successfully.
What to do next
You can now register Db2 subsystems on the remote sysplex for Db2 CD operations.
