Deleting a node

As a Db2 CD administrator, you can delete, truncate, or merge a node in a path. These actions modify the deployment sources and targets in a path and affects only the active releases in a path that occurred until the deleted node. Releases for which deployments reached after the node remain unaffected.

Before you begin

  • A standalone environment in a node can be removed only by deleting its node.
  • The environments, landscapes, paths, and primary peer environments used in an active release cannot be deleted.

Procedure

  1. On the navigation menu, click Manage Db2 CD > Paths.
  2. On the Paths page, click the Expand icon (Expand) next to a path to view the nodes on the path.
  3. To delete a node, click the Overflow menu () beside the node, and then select Delete.
The delete node confirmation dialog box displays the environment, or for a multi-environment node, the list of environments to be removed from the path.
  4. In the delete node confirmation dialog box, select from the available options:
    1. To retain any business environment objects associated with the environments being deleted or truncated from the path, select the Keep associated business environment objects checkbox.
    2. Choose one of the following options to determine how the path continues after the selected node is removed:
      • Delete - Removes only the selected node from the path. If you delete the initial node, the next node in the path becomes the new initial node.
      • Truncate - Removes the selected node and all subsequent nodes in the path.
      • Merge - Connects the previous node (source) directly to the next node (target), removing the selected node from the sequence.

The Merge option is available only when the node to be removed is in the middle of the path.

Results

The node is successfully deleted.
