Case administration client

Use the Case administration client to manage solutions, configure security, and migrate case management components from one environment to another.

Important: The tools and the functions that are available in your cloud subscription are based on the functionality in the equivalent on premise product. The topics that are linked to here are in the documentation for the on-premise product.

Authorization

Depending on how your subscription is set up and the capabilities that are available, you need one of the following roles:
  • Business automations capabilities: Workflow Administrators role
  • Workflow capabilities: Case Administrators role
If you don't see the tool, your user ID probably doesn't have the correct authorization. Report the issue to your account administrator.

Manage solutions and components

The administrative actions that you can take in the Case administration client include the following tasks:
  • Manage solutions.

You can perform general case management activities, such as copying solutions, creating solution templates, and managing locks on solution assets.

  • Configure security.

In production environments, you configure security on case management objects that are controlled by Content Platform Engine. You must also configure security on Content Platform Engine process services queues, rosters, and application spaces. For more information, see Configuring security by using the Case administration client wizard.

  • Migrate a case management solution.

To migrate a solution, you export the solution assets that were defined in Case Builder and optionally, other solution application artifacts from the development environment. You then import the assets to the new environment. For more information, see Exporting IBM® Business Automation Workflow assets and Importing IBM Business Automation Workflow assets.
