Troubleshooting: SQLCODE -525 after migrating to a new Db2 function level

If you recently migrated to a new Db2® function level and received SQLCODE -525 when trying to run Db2 Administration Tool, you likely need to run the TCz ADBBIND job.

Symptoms

After migrating to a new Db2 function level, SQLCODE -525 is returned when trying to run a function in Db2 Admin Tool or launch the tool. For example, you might receive the following message when issuing the DET line command or primary command on the Packages (ADB21K) panel:
DSNT408I SQLCODE = -525, ERROR: THE SQL STATEMENT CANNOT BE EXECUTED BECAUSE IT WAS IN ERROR AT BIND TIME

You might also receive SQLCODE -525 upon the initial invocation of Db2 Admin Tool.

Resolving the problem

Ensure that you have completed all of the required steps in Db2 Admin Tool for migrating to a new Db2 function level. Most notably, ensure that the ADBBIND job was run. See Updating Db2 Admin Tool after migrating to a new Db2 version, mode, or function level or running CATMAINT.
