Saving and restoring migrate specifications

When you use the migrate (MIG) function, you can save the list of selected objects, migrate parameters, templates, batch parameters, GEN options, and utility options. This set of selections is called a dialog and is saved in the specified data set. You can later restore these selections and modify them as needed. These saved dialogs can shared across subsystems.

Before you begin

Ensure that one of the following Migrate object panels is displayed:

Migrate Table Spaces (ADB28S) panel
Migrate Tables (ADB28T) panel
Migrate Views (ADBP8V) panel

For instructions on how to navigate to one of these panels, see Step 1. Specify the objects and information to migrate.

Procedure

To save and restore migrate specifications:

To save your specifications:
1. Ensure that the objects you want to save are listed and the options you want to save are specified.
  The objects are listed on one of the Migrate object panels.
  The options are specified on the following panels:
  - Migrate Parameters (ADB28M) panel
  - Generate SQL from DB2 catalog (ADBP8MG) panel
  - Specify UTILITY TEMPLATE Usage (ADB25TU3) panel
  - Batch Job Utility Parameters (ADB2UPA) panel
  - Specify Utility Options panel
  After you specify the options that you want to save, exit back to one of the Migrate object panels.
2. Issue the SAVE command from one of the Migrate object panels.
3. On the Save Dialog (ADB2SDS) panel, specify a prefix for the data set where you want the selections to be saved, a dialog name, and optionally, a description.

  A dialog name is a name that you give for your set of selections.

To restore a saved set of specifications:

Issue the RESTORE command from one of the Migrate object panels.

On the Saved Dialogs (ADB2SD) panel, specify the prefix for the data sets that contain the saved dialogs:

On the Manage/Restore Dialogs (ADB2SDM) panel, specify S next to the dialog that you want to restore, and press Enter:

On the Manage/Restore Dialogs (ADB2SDM) panel, you can also delete and rename any dialogs as needed.
