You use the Deploy OLAP Objects wizard to deploy OLAP objects
from a physical data model in a project in Data Project Explorer to
a target database in the Database Explorer.
Use this wizard to deploy OLAP objects and their child
objects from the Data Project Explorer to a target database in the
Database Explorer.
Note: When you deploy all of the OLAP objects in
a database, the objects in the target database will be dropped and
replaced by the objects in the newly deployed database.
Before you begin
You
must be connected to both the target database and the metadata database.
Before
the OLAP objects are deployed to the target database, the wizard makes
sure that the OLAP objects are valid. If there are validation problems,
the deployment is stopped. You can use the Analyze Model menu
option to display the problems, correct the errors, and try to deploy
the OLAP objects again.
Specify the Target Database
Use this wizard
page to specify the target database where you want to deploy the OLAP
objects.
Target database group box
Specify the
database where you want to deploy the OLAP metadata. Only the DB2® databases that you are connected
to are displayed. To deploy the metadata, click Finish.
