Procedure: Finding text

You can search the views of the Mining Visualizer for particular text strings. For example, you might want to search item set by item set for a support value of 60% in the Item Sets View.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click Edit => Find... on the menu bar of the visualizer.

You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+F.

  2. Type 60% in the Text to find entry field.

If you have searched for this support value before, you can also select it from the Text to find drop-down list.

  3. Select Support from the Search in column drop-down list.
  4. Select the appropriate check boxes to search in the visible and in the hidden list.
  5. Click Find.

If the specified string is found, the item set that includes this string is highlighted in the visible and in the hidden table.

If you want to highlight all item sets that include a support value of 60% in the visible and the hidden table simultaneously, you must click Find All.

  6. Select Edit => Find Next repeatedly to highlight the next item set that includes the specified string.

You can also press F3 repeatedly to find the next item set with the specified text string.

When all occurrences of 60% are highlighted, a message is displayed that the specified string cannot be found. If the visible table contains, for example, 3 item sets that include 60%, and the hidden table contains 6 item sets that include 60%, the message is only issued after the last item set in the hidden table is highlighted.
