The
best way to learn how to add a Blox to your portlet is to install the sample
portlets provided in Alphablox and load them into a portal page. This allows
you to examine the basic structure of the JSP code and match that to the output
on your portal.
Install the sample portlets provided in Alphablox:
- Open your browser and log in to your portal as an administrative user
(the URL is in the form of http://<yourPortalServer>:<port>/wps/portal).
- Click the Administration button.
- Under the Portlet Management section, click Web Modules.
The Manage Web Modules page appears on the right.
- Click Install. You are prompted for the Web Module
to install.
- Click the Browse button and navigate to the installableApps directory
under your Alphablox installation directory.
- Choose AlphabloxSamplePortlets.war and click Next.
The Alphablox Sample Portlets application with a portlet called Alphablox
JSP Page Sample Portlet is displayed in the Portlet application table.
- Click Finish.
The Alphablox Sample Portlets application and the included portlets are
now installed. Check the
installedApps directory under your WebSphere
® Portal
installation. The name for the newly created directory starts with
IBM
Alpha and ends with a dynamically generated portlet ID in the pattern
of
_PA_x_x_xx.ear.
