Use the Configuration Assistant's Configure menu to export
a profile.
Procedure
- If you are exporting an entire profile, from the Configure menu,
select . A window opens where you can specify a
file name for the profile.
This typically includes all the information
needed to configure a system in order to access specific databases
and set common values on client systems. This option allows you to
reproduce the configuration of this DB2® instance
on other machines. This export option is useful when installing and
distributing the configuration information for multiple identical
clients.
- If you are only exporting database connection information,
from the Configure menu, select . A window opens where you can specify a
file name for the profile.
This includes only the information
needed to access specific databases. This option is useful when new
databases are added or database information changes. One profile
can be updated with the changes and then distributed to other clients.
- If you want to customize a profile, from the Configure menu,
select . The Customize Export Profile notebook
opens.
This allows you to include whatever parts of a configuration
profile that you wish. You can also modify values before creating
the actual export profile.
