On the Timeout Limits page,
you can enable and adjust the timeout limits that force database activities
to stop running. The timeout limits measure the elapsed processing
time of an activity.
The timeout limits are safety mechanisms
that provide time outs when unexpected concurrency-related deadlocks
occur. By default, the timeout limits are disabled because the unexpected
deadlocks are rare and the timeout limits can be otherwise disruptive.
You can turn the timeout limits on and off to use them when
you need them.
Procedure
To
enable and set the timeout limits:
- Select Yes to stop the activities
that run for too long.
- Specify the timeout limit in minutes for the high-priority
activities, the medium-priority activities, and the low-priority activities.
- Save a draft of the configuration.
