Removing IBM Global Security Kit packages

How you remove an installation of IBM® Global Security Kit (GSKit) packages depends on the method used to install the packages.

Before you begin

Installations of IBM Global Security Kit (GSKit) on Linux systems are done using either the rpm command or the native dpkg command, as an option for Debian systems. Your installation method dictates which utility to use when uninstalling IBM Global Security Kit (GSKit) packages.

If you used the rpm command to install your packages, run the command with the -qa parameter to obtain a list of installed packages. You can use this list to determine the exact names of the currently installed IBM Global Security Kit (GSKit) packages. For example:
rpm -qa | grep gsk

Procedure

Use one of the following methods to remove the IBM Global Security Kit (GSKit) packages from your Linux system:
For systems that used rpm to install the packages:
Run the rpm command to remove the IBM Global Security Kit (GSKit) SSL package followed by the IBM Global Security Kit (GSKit) Crypt package.
For example:
rpm -ev gskssl32-8.0.14.8 gskcrypt32-8.0.14.8
For Debian systems where a native Debian package was installed:
Run the dpkg tool:
dpkg --purge gskcrypt64
