Upgrading Db2 servers in HADR environments that require standby reinitialization

This procedure can be used in all scenarios. The procedure turns off HADR feature, upgrades the primary database to the new Db2 version, then reinitialize HADR by using a new backup image taken after the upgrade.

Procedure
  1. Stop the HADR primary or standby databases. For more information, see Stopping DB2® High Availability Disaster Recovery (HADR).
  2. Upgrade the Db2 server where the primary database resides by using one of the following tasks:
  3. Reinitialize HADR database, following the instructions in Initializing high availability disaster recovery (HADR). Note that as mentioned in the instructions, you should first drop the old standby database, before initializing the new standby database.
