Licensing for replication

You do not need to purchase a copy of Db2 Connect to replicate data from Db2® for z/OS®, IBM® Db2 for IBM i, or IBM Informix® database servers.

Homogeneous (IBM to IBM) replication support is included with Db2. However, for Db2 for z/OS and IBM Db2 for IBM i, you must purchase one of the following products that run on the host server:

IBM InfoSphere® Replication Server for z/OS
Db2 DataPropagator for iSeries

Db2 database products do not include the technology to replicate to and from IBM Informix (IDS), therefore the Db2 database products use federation to first make IDS appear to be a Db2 database. The Db2 database product can then replicate data to and from the IDS database.

To use heterogeneous replication (non-IBM data sources) or Q replication, you must purchase IBM InfoSphere Replication Server.
