Performance enhancements
The performance of log archiving is enhanced in the Db2 12.1.2 release.

The
following table lists performance enhancements that have been added to Db2 12.1.2:
- Db2 Distributed (on-premises)
- The container micro-service deployments of Db2 and Db2 Warehouse for Kubernetes-based clusters, which includes Red Hat OpenShift, the Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), the Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA), and the Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

| Log archive operations no longer require a staging file | When archiving logs to remote storage by setting either the LOGARCHMETH1 or LOGARCHMETH2 database configuration parameters to DB2REMOTE, a staging file is no longer required. This change can reduce the time needed for log archiving by 10% to 20%. |
