High availability, backup, resiliency, and recovery enhancements

Db2 Version 11.5 Mod Pack 6 includes enhancements that help ensure that your data remains available.

Enhancement Description
Performance improvement of ADMIN_MOVE_TABLE procedure Better performance for the ADMIN_MOVE_TABLE procedure as ADMIN_MOVE_TABLE uses column-organized parallel insert when moving column-organized tables. For more information, refer to ../../com.ibm.db2.luw.sql.rtn.doc/doc/r0055069.html#r0055069__copy_use_rid.
Enhanced ADMIN_MOVE_TABLE procedure for range-partitioned tables The ADMIN_MOVE_TABLE procedure is enhanced to create and move range-partitioned tables when defined as GENERATED ALWAYS, with expression columns used as a partitioning key.
Enhanced resiliency for automated failover to HADR standby on Linux® for on-premises and non-containerized cloud deployments with Pacemaker Multiple heartbeat rings support has been added. Users can now utilize more than one network adapter to create multiple heartbeat rings to enhance network resiliency of the cluster. For background, benefits, and detailed setup instructions, refer to Improving cluster network heartbeating resiliency for Db2 HADR with Pacemaker.
Improved diagnostics for automated failover to HADR standby on Linux® for on-premises and non-containerized cloud deployments with Pacemaker Corosync and Pacemaker diagnostics now use a timestamp format with millisecond precision, by default, improving traceability of sub second interactions between the Db2 engine and cluster manager.
Improved HADR database hang detection Improved primary HADR hang detection for both Tivoli® SA MP and Pacemaker HADR deployments. If connections to the primary database are unresponsive, the cluster manager will initiate a failover to the standby.
Better support of HADR in network address translation (NAT) environment There is a better solution to implement HADR in NAT environments. This method does not require the setting of the DB2_HADR_NO_IP_CHECK register variable. This method allows HADR with multiple standby databases to work in some NAT environments where previously is not possible via the use of DB2_HADR_NO_IP_CHECK register variable.
