Supported IBM Data Servers and System Requirements

The following list shows the supported IBM^® data servers:

DB2^®
- DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows Version 10.5 and later
- DB2 for z/OS Version 11 and later
- DB2 for i V7R1,V7R2 and V7R3
Informix^® Dynamic Server (IDS)
- IDS, Version 11.70 and Version 12.10

For each of the supported servers, the following list shows the system requirements for clients that use the IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio:

Microsoft^® Visual Studio 2008, Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2012, Visual Studio 2013, Visual Studio 2015, Visual Studio 2017 or Visual Studio 2019
DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, Version 10.5 and later

Notes:

Using different versions of the IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio and a data server client is not supported. To ensure that functionality in the add-ins works correctly, install the same version, release, and fix-pack level of the add-ins and one of the following client packages:
- IBM Data Server Client
- IBM Data Server Runtime Client
- IBM Data Server Driver Package
The version, release, and fix-pack level of the add-ins must be identical to the version, release, and fix-pack level of the IBM Data Server Provider for .NET.
The add-ins, which is 32-bit application, is not compatible with the 64-bit version of the IBM Data Server Provider for .NET. Starting in Version 9.7, Fix Pack 2, the 32-bit provider is packaged with the 64-bit provider.
If you install Version 9.7, Fix Pack 1, or earlier, of the add-ins on a 64-bit operating system, ensure that the 32-bit version of the provider is installed.
