The IBM® Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio simplify the process of creating and modifying IBM database tables. With the IBM Table Designer, you provide information about the table; create or remove columns in the table; define a primary key, unique keys, and foreign keys; define table indexes, specify check constraints, triggers, and access privileges for users and groups; and specify script options for the table.
To open the IBM Table Designer:
- If you want to create a table, in the Server Explorer under your data connection, right-click Tables, and then select Add New Table with Designer on the shortcut menu.
- If you want to review a table definition, in the Server Explorer under your data connection, right-click the table whose definition you want to review, and then select Open Definition on the shortcut menu.
If you want to create a table that is based on an existing table,
in the Server Explorer under your data connection, right-click the
table that you want to use, and then select Clone
Definition on the shortcut menu.-
If you want to modify a table, in the Server Explorer under your
data connection, right-click the table that you want to change,
and then select Open Definition on the shortcut menu.

Use the buttons on the IBM Table Designer toolbar to move from view to view in the designer.
