With the IBM® Data Designer, you can review table data and view data, and the data that results from running SQL procedures and SQL functions.
To open the IBM Data Designer:
- If you want to review the data in a table or a view, in the Server Explorer under your data connection, right-click the table or the view, and then select Show Data on the shortcut menu.
- If you want to review the data that is generated from an SQL routine, in the Server Explorer under your data connection, right-click the SQL procedure or function, and then select Run on the shortcut menu. In the Run Options window, specify values for the input parameters, and then click Run.
The designer consists of a single view, the Data view.

Use the buttons on the IBM Data Designer toolbar to perform actions on data in the designer.
- Adds data from a
file to the data that is displayed in the Result Data section
(table data and view data only)
- Creates a file
that contains the data that is displayed in the Result Data
section
- Requeries the table or tables in
the database (table data and view data only) or reruns the SQL routine
(SQL procedure and function only)
