IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio

Using IBM Database Add-Ins in Additional Versions of Visual Studio

When you install IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio, the add-ins are automatically registered for the versions of Visual Studio that are already installed on your computer. Registering the add-ins for a given version of Visual Studio means the add-ins are available for you to use in that version of Visual Studio. If you install an additional version of Visual Studio at a later time, the add-ins are not registered for the newly installed version.

For example, if Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Studio 2010 are installed on your computer and you then install IBM Database Add-Ins, the add-ins are registered for both versions of Visual Studio. The add-ins are available for you to use in either or both versions of Visual Studio. If you install Visual Studio 2012 or later after you install the add-ins, the add-ins are not registered for Visual Studio 2012. You cannot immediately use the add-ins in that version of Visual Studio.

The add-ins become available in a newly installed version of Visual Studio only after you manually register the add-ins.
