Deprecated functionality in 11.5.5

Functionality gets marked as deprecated when a specific function or feature is supported in the current release but might be removed in a future release. In some cases, it might be advisable to plan to discontinue the use of deprecated functionality.

Attention: Deprecated features in this mod pack release affect the following Db2 products:

For example, a registry variable might be deprecated in this release because the behavior that is triggered by the registry variable has been enabled by default in this release. Then the obsolete registry variable will be removed in a future release.

The following Db2 functionality is deprecated in 11.5.5:

REMOTE parameter of the START DATABASE MANAGER command The REMOTE parameter of the START DATABASE MANAGER command is deprecated and will be discontinued in a future release or modification pack. The REMOTE parameter requires a Database Administration Server (DAS) which was deprecated in version 9.7. Consider using OpenSSH to send the db2start command to remote hosts.
CREATE TOOLS CATALOG and DROP TOOLS CATALOG commands The CREATE TOOLS CATALOG and DROP TOOLS CATALOG commands are deprecated and will be discontinued in a future release or modification pack. The tools catalog is used to manage tasks within the Database Administration Server (DAS), which was deprecated in version 9.7. No current alternatives
db2mtrk memory tracker command The db2mtrk memory tracker command is deprecated, and will be discontinued in a future release or modification pack. Use the MON_GET_MEMORY_POOL and/or the MON_GET_MEMORY_SET table functions (or db2pd -mempools or -memsets commands) instead.
Support for Infiniband (IB) adapters Support for Infiniband (IB) adapters as the high-speed communication network between members and CFs in Db2 pureScale® on all supported platforms is deprecated and will be removed in a future release. Use Remote Direct Memory Access over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) network as the replacement.
