Debugging CLR Applications against DB2 Version 8 Servers
The IBM® Unified Debugger, which is the
feature that you use to debug SQL procedures in C# and Visual
Basic applications, is available with qualified support for
the following releases of DB2®:
DB2 for Linux®, UNIX®,
and Windows®, Version 8
DB2 for z/OS®, Version 8 new function mode (NFM)
and Version 9 in Version 8 conversion mode (CM)
The debugger session manager is not available on the DB2
Version 8 platforms. The following two approaches
provide access the debugger session manager:
You can use a separate instance of one of the following
supported servers that is running the debugger session manager:
DB2 for Linux®, UNIX®,
and Windows®, Version 9.1, or later
DB2 for z/OS®, Version 9 NFM, Version 10
in Version 9 CM, or Version 10 NFM
If you use this server, you must use a server that has
had one of the IBM Unified Debugger PTFs applied; that
is, PK32422, PK41262, or a future release of the IBM
Unified Debugger.
Additionally, the debugger session manager must be
set up on this server as a service.
DB2 for i V5R4 or V6R1
If you use this approach, when you enable IBM SQL debugging
in the project that contains the application,
you must specify the name of the host connection in which
the debugger session manager runs.
You can start and use the debugger session manager manually
on your client workstation.
