Changing IBM Data Web Service Definitions  (DB2)

You can use the IBM® Data Web Service Designer to change the definition of and redeploy an IBM data Web service.

You can add and delete operations of the Web service. You can redeploy the Web service to the same local Web server or to a different local Web server.

To change a Web service definition:

  1. In the Server Explorer under your data connection, right-click the Web service that you want to change, and then select Open Definition on the shortcut menu.

    The IBM Data Web Service Designer opens.

  2. Optional: To deploy the Web service to a different local Web server, click Advanced Options and then specify the name of the Web server in the Advanced Options window.
  3. Optional: Add an operation to the Web service.
  4. Optional: Change a Web service operation.
  5. Optional: To delete a Web service operation, in the Operations section, select the operation, and then click -.
  6. Use the Web Service view in the designer to make other necessary changes.

  7. From the File menu, select Save, and then close the designer.

    The Web service under your data connection is updated with your changes. The Web service is deployed to the local Web server that is specified in the Advanced Options window.


The Web service is shown in the Web Services folder of your data connection in the Server Explorer.
