IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio

Adding Operations to IBM Data Web Services  (DB2)

You can use the IBM® Data Web Service Designer to add one or more operations to an IBM data Web service.

Prerequisite: The Web service to which you want to add the operations must be open in the IBM Data Web Service Designer.

To add an operation to a Web service:

  1. In the Operations section of the Web Service view click +.

A new row is added to the operations grid.

  2. In the Name cell of the new row, type the name of the new operation.
  3. In the Operation cell of the new row, specify the operation text by performing one of the following steps:
    • For simple text, type the text in the cell.
    • For more complex text, click the cell, click Ellipsis button, and then in the Edit Operation window, type the text.

The Edit Operation window provides syntax highlighting for ease of use.

The operation text can be any valid SQL or SQLXML statement.
  4. From the File menu, select Save, and then close the designer.
