Finding Nodes, Elements, and Attributes in Source XML Schemas  (DB2)

To annotate an XML schema, you define associations between elements and attributes in the source XML schema and columns in target database tables. In larger source XML schemas, it might be difficult to locate specific nodes, element, and attributes. A search feature helps you locate them easily.

Requirement:  An instance of the IBM XML Schema Mapping Designer must be open, with an XML schema displayed in the Source XML schema pane.

To find a node, element, or attribute in a source XML schema:

  1. Right-click in the Source XML schema pane, and then select Search on the shortcut menu.
  2. In the Find Text window, type the name of the node, element, or attribute that you want to find, and then click Search.

If the name that you typed is found in the source XML schema, focus shifts to the node, element, or attribute with that name.

  3. Optional: To find other occurrences of the name, click Search Again in the Find Text window.
