The IBM® Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio simplifies the process of creating DB2 XML indexes. You can use the IBM Table Designer tool to create an XML index. The designer generates the index as part of a table definition.
In the designer, you provide information about the index, specify the column for which you want to define the index, provide values for the properties of the XML index, and specify the XML pattern to use for the index.
To create an XML index by using the IBM Table Designer:
The XML Indexes view of the IBM Table Designer is displayed.
For detailed information about fields in the XML Indexes view, see XML Indexes, Designer.
