Accessibility features help users with physical disabilities, such as restricted mobility or limited vision, to use software products successfully. The following list specifies the major accessibility features:

Keyboard input and navigation

Keyboard input

You can operate the Db2 tools by using only the keyboard. You can use keys or key combinations to perform operations that can also be done with a mouse. Standard operating system keystrokes are used for standard operating system operations.

The Db2 tools have features that improve accessibility for users with low vision or other visual impairments. These accessibility enhancements include support for customizable font properties.

Font settings

You can select the color, size, and font for the text in menus and dialog windows, by using the Tools Settings notebook.

Non-dependence on color

Compatibility with assistive technologies

The Db2 tools interfaces support the Java Accessibility API, which enables you to use screen readers and other assistive technologies with Db2 products.

Documentation for Db2 products is provided in XHTML 1.0 format, which is viewable in most Web browsers. XHTML allows you to view documentation according to the display preferences set in your browser. It also allows you to use screen readers and other assistive technologies.

Syntax diagrams are provided in dotted decimal format. This format is available only if you are accessing the online documentation with a screen-reader.
