Saving Annotated XML Schemas  (DB2)

After you define the association between the elements and attributes in an XML schema and the columns in DB2® relational database tables, you can save the annotated XML schema. When you save an annotated XML schema, you also register it in the XML Schema Repository.

The annotated XML schema is saved in the database schema that you specify. If you do not specify a database schema, the annotated XML schema is stored in the default database. The name of the default database is the user ID with which you created the data connection in the Server Explorer.

Requirement:  An annotated XML schema must be open and unsaved in the IBM XML Schema Mapping Designer.

To save an annotated XML schema:

  1. From the File menu, select Save [annotated XML schema name].

The Register Annotated XML Schema window opens.

  2. Optional: Select the database schema in which to store the annotated XML schema file.
  3. Optional: Specify one or more comments about the annotated XML schema.
  4. To use the annotated XML schema for extracting data in XML documents, set the value of Decomposition to True.
