IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio

Using the interactive command console

Use the interactive command console to directly issue commands and SQL statements to an IBM database.

To use the interactive command console:

  1. Ensure that you are connected to the database to which you want to issue commands and SQL statements.
  2. In the Server Explorer window, right-click the database connection and click Open Command Console. A command console window opens.
You can run database commands and SQL statements in the command console as you would use the DB2 command line processor. However, you cannot run DB2 command line processor commands, and you cannot run commands from a script.
