Changing the Properties of IBM Data Connections

Use the Modify Connection and Advanced Properties windows to change the properties of an existing IBM data connection.

To change the properties of an IBM data connection:

  1. In the Server Explorer window, right-click the node of the data connection, and then select Modify Connection on the shortcut menu.
  2. In the Modify Connection window, change the values in any of the editable fields, including the database filters.

For detailed information about fields in the window, see Add/Modify Connection.

  3. Optional: Click Advanced. In the Advanced Properties window, change the value of any of the connection properties that can be edited, and then click OK.

Select a property to see its description in the box under the properties list. If the description exceeds the size of the box, hover the mouse pointer over the last line of text in the box. After a brief pause, the full description is shown in a ScreenTip.

  4. Optional: To test the connection to the database, click Test Connection.
  5. Click OK.
