Alternate or additional configurations available on Microsoft Azure for HADR environments

Configuring a two-host HADR Pacemaker cluster on Microsoft Azure with a quorum device host acting as a cluster arbitrator is supported. The instructions for setting this up remain unchanged when deploying on Azure hosts.

Attention: In Db2® 11.5.8 and later, Pacemaker is available for Linux cluster management on both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

As an alternative solution to the quorum device host, you can use Azure-specific fencing agents that are configured separately.

The use of virtual IP Addresses also requires an Azure-specific implementation that differs from the virtual IP configuration with the db2cm utility.

For guidance on alternate configurations of Db2 HA cluster with Pacemaker on Azure, refer to the technote: Alternate or additional configurations available on Microsoft Azure.
