Hardware, software, and storage requirements for Q replication on Db2
Before you enable Q replication for the Db2 service, ensure that you meet the required hardware, software, and storage requirements.
Hardware
Replication is available for Db2 systems running native Kubernetes for X86 processors or Red Hat
OpenShift for X86 and Power processors on supported Linux distributions on x86-64 hardware platforms. It
is an add-on component for your Db2 deployment. Starting with 11.5.8cn-3, Q Replication also supports
Power Linux (PPCLE) platform for Db2.
Q Replication now supports IBM Db2U Standalone for OpenShift on x86 and power linux, and
Native Kubernetes on x86. In addition to meeting the hardware requirements, you
must also meet the following CPU and memory requirements for replication:- CPU
-
- 4 to 8 vCPUs per node
- Memory
-
- 8 to 16 GiB
Software
Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) must be enabled on your Db2 before you enable replication.
Storage
The Db2 deployment on which you are enabling replication must use one of the following
storage classes:
- Network File Storage (NFS) storage class.
- A Spectum Scale storage class.
- OpenShift Container Storage (OCS) class.
