IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio

Running IBM Data Web Services  (DB2)

You can run IBM® data Web services for testing purposes. When you run a Web service, you can select an operation, and specify values for the operation parameters. You can determine whether the test run is successful by reviewing the returned result XML.

To run a Web service:

  1. In the Server Explorer under your data connection, right-click the Web service that you want to run, and then click Run on the shortcut menu.

The Invoke Web Service Method window opens.

  2. Optional: Specify the URL where the Web service is running.
  3. In the Available Web methods list, select the operation to run.
  4. If parameters are listed in the Parameters grid, specify a value for each parameter.
  5. Click Invoke.

The Web service operation runs and the XML that is generated by running the operation is shown in Result box. For ease of use, the content in the Result box is shown with XML syntax highlighting.
