Validation messages

The data preparation input model and the data preparation profile can be validated. When the validation is finished, a dialog shows the validation messages.

To validate the input model, select Data Preparation > Validate Input Model from the menu. The Data Preparation Validation dialog is displayed.
To validate the profile, select Data Preparation > Validate Profile from the menu. The Profile Validation dialog is displayed.

Each validation message contains the error or warning description, the corresponding explanation, and the user response.

The error or warning description explains the error that occurred.

The explanation includes more information about the error or warning, for example, where the error occurred, valid values for entry fields, or why the current input is not correct.

The user response provides hints how to resolve the error.

Before you can generate a data flow or an SQL script for your data preparation profile, all validation errors must be resolved.
