Data mining — Specifying settings parameters for the Regression mining function

This section describes specifying different settings for the regression mining function and use of different algorithms for regression.

Intelligent Miner® provides the following regression algorithms:

Linear Regression
Transform Regression
Polynomial Regression

By default, the Transform Regression algorithm is used. You can select a different algorithm by using DM_setAlgorithm.

The regression mining functions provides general settings that apply to all regression algorithms. It also provides settings that are specific to the Linear Regression algorithm and the Polynomial Regression algorithm.

For each field in a logical data specification, you can create optional definitions in a DM_RegSettings value that are specific to the Regression algorithms.
