You can use colors to highlight particular properties of the clusters.
Using colors is the default setting.
If you deselect this option, the clusters are displayed on white background.
If you use colors, you can color the clusters by the following parameters:
If you are using a Demographic Clustering model and select the
Show
algorithm-specific information check box on the General page of the Visualizer
Properties notebook, you can also color the clusters by their homogeneity
values.
If you want to color the clusters by aggregation or average values, you
must also specify the field that contains the values that you want to aggregate
or calculate the average of.
White color represents the expected value that is calculated from the existing
clusters. The expected value represents the overall average. The values are
mapped to colors in the color scale according to the following rules:
- Values that are greater than the expected value are mapped to colors that
lie between the color that you selected for the maximum value and white color
in the color scale.
- Values that are smaller than the expected value are mapped to colors that
lie between the color that you selected for the minimum value and white color
in the color scale.
To color clusters
by their field values, follow these steps:
- Click the Color Cluster by list button and select the parameter
that you want to use from the drop-down list, for example, Size.
Note that
the option Homogeneity is only included in this list if you have selected
the Show algorithm-specific information check box on the General page
of the Visualizer Properties notebook.
- To specify the background color for the lowest value of the selected parameter,
click Min. Value on the color scale and select a color, for example,
dark blue.
- To specify the background color for the highest value of the selected
parameter, click Max. Value on the color scale and select a color,
for example, dark green.
