Input model editor

The input model editor consists of a canvas, a palette, and a properties view. The canvas represents the input model graphically. The palette provides objects that are required to create an input model from scratch. The properties view shows the properties of the object that is selected on the canvas.

With the Input Model editor in the Design Studio, you can create an input model from scratch, or you can view an imported cube model.

If you create an input model from scratch, you need to select tables from a database, join the tables, and create hierarchies.

If you import a cube model, you cannot edit the model. An imported cube model contains facts, dimensions, tables, joins, and hierarchies.
