Setting up IBM Cloud File Storage (ibmc-file-gold-gid storage class)

If you are using IBM Cloud File Storage (ibmc-file-gold-gid storage class) for Red Hat® OpenShift® Kubernetes Service with Db2® Warehouse, you must use the cp.icr.io/cp/cpd/norootsquash:3.0-amd64 image to set no_root_squash.

About this task

Db2 Warehouse requires no_root_squash when you use NFS with IBM Cloud File Storage (ibmc-file-gold-gid storage class) or the restore morph job fails.

Note: Db2 Warehouse only supports the cp.icr.io/cp/cpd/norootsquash:3.0-amd64 image on x86-64 hardware. If you are using POWER® or Z hardware, follow the instructions in Configuring ID mapping on NFS 4.

Configuring no_root_squash allows root clients to retain root permissions on the remote NFS share. For more details, see Implementing no_root_squash for NFS in the IBM Cloud documentation.
