Renaming data sharing members

Strictly speaking, the renaming of existing data sharing members is not supported. However, you can change the names of your data sharing group members by replacing the members that you want to rename.

Before you begin

Changing member names in your data sharing group Db2 data sharing members is an activity that requires careful planning. For more information, see Naming in Db2 data sharing.

To change the names of existing members of a data sharing group:

1. Define the correct profile names for the DSNR class. Make sure that RACF definitions are in place to handle the new subsystem names. Add the correct names to the following tables:
   • The RACF router table. For more information, see The RACF router table.
   • The started procedures table (ICHRIN03), if used. For more information, see Defining RACF user IDs for Db2-started tasks and The started procedures table (ICHRIN03).
2. Replicate existing PERMIT commands to allow users and groups to access the new profiles.
3. Quiesce the member that you want to rename, as described in Quiescing a data sharing member.
4. Add a member with the new name, as described in Adding a new data sharing member.
