Bootstrap data sets storage requirements

Each bootstrap data set (BSDS) requires 15 MB. During installation, Db2 automatically allocates two copies of the BSDS. During migration, Db2 13 adopts the BSDS characteristics that you specified for your previous version.

That is, if you specified two copies of the BSDSs for your previous version, you will have two copies for Db2 13. Keeping two copies of the BSDS is strongly recommended. The total space requirement is about 30 MB for both BSDSs. The BSDSs require about 45 cylinders of 3390 storage.
