DEL CF STRUCTS field (DEL_CFSTRUCTS_ON_RESTART subsystem parameter)
The DEL_CFSTRUCTS_ON_RESTART parameter specifies whether, during restart, Db2 is to attempt to delete the SCA, IRLM lock structure, and any allocated group buffer pools from the coupling facility.
Acceptable values: | NO, YES |
---|---|
Default: | NO |
Update: | option 4 on DSNTIPB |
DSNZPxxx: | DSN6SYSP.DEL_CFSTRUCTS_ON_RESTART |
- NO
- During restart, Db2 does
not attempt to delete the data sharing group's coupling facility structures. Recommendation: Use this setting for production systems.
- YES
- During restart, Db2 attempts
to delete the data sharing group's coupling facility structures. The
deletion is successful only if no other Db2 subsystems
are connected to the structures when the deletion is attempted. If
the deletion is successful, the deleted structures are recovered as
necessary during a group restart or group buffer pool RECOVER-pending
(GRECP) recovery process. This process might increase the amount of
time that Db2 takes
to complete a restart. Recommendation: Use this setting for disaster recovery systems.
Use the same setting for the DEL CF STRUCTS field on all members of a data sharing group.
