ASCII CCSID field (ASCCSID, AMCCSID, AGCCSID DECP values)
The ASCII CCSID field identifies the default coded character set identifier (CCSID) for ASCII-encoded character data that is to be stored in your Db2 subsystem or data sharing system.
Db2 uses the value of this field to convert character data that is received from external sources, including other database management systems. You must specify a value for this field, even if you do not have or plan to create ASCII-encoded objects. Choose this value carefully to prevent loss of data integrity.
