FAST RESTORE field (REC_FASTREPLICATION subsystem parameter)
The REC_FASTREPLICATION parameter specifies whether the RECOVER utility should use FlashCopy® to recover from a FlashCopy image copy.

- The RECOVER utility uses standard I/O to restore a FlashCopy image copy.
- PREFERRED
- The RECOVER utility uses FlashCopy to recover from a FlashCopy image copy if FlashCopy support is available.
- REQUIRED
- The RECOVER utility forces the use of FlashCopy to recover from a FlashCopy image copy to ensure that recovery occurs as quickly as possible. This option causes RECOVERY to fail if FlashCopy cannot be used.
If you use BACKUP SYSTEM to create system-level backups, using FlashCopy for a restore might cause BACKUP SYSTEM to fail because bi-directional FlashCopy is not supported.
