Explanation

Db2 must load the Language Environment® interface module (CEEPIPI) to process functions requiring Language Environment services. These Language Environment services are required for TCP/IP socket calls, encryption and decryption, and so on. If the CEEPIPI module is not included in an accessible data set such as STEPLIB data sets or the LPA library, DDF is unable to use the Language Environment.

System action

DDF startup continues, but DDF users cannot use Db2 functions that require Language Environment services.

System programmer response

Add the Language Environment library to the DDF STEPLIB concatenation or to the LPA library. The Language Environment library must be APF authorized when it appears in the DDF STEPLIB concatenation.

Problem determination

Collect the following diagnostic item listed in
  • Console output from the system on which the job was run, and a listing of the SYSLOG data set for the period of time that spans the failure.
