Predicates with encrypted data

Db2 provides built-in functions for data encryption and decryption. These functions can secure sensitive data, but they can also degrade the performance of some statements if they are not used carefully.

Begin program-specific programming interface information. If a predicate contains any operator other than = and <>, encrypted data must be decrypted before comparisons can be made. Decryption makes the predicates stage 2. End program-specific programming interface information.
