Before you begin

You must use a privilege set that includes the installation SYSADM or installation SYSOPR authority. The installation SYSOPR authority enables you to install or migrate to Db2 13 without access to user objects.

About this task

This installation task is required if you are installing Db2 13 at function level 502 or higher. If you are installing at function level 501, it is optional.

Procedure

To install Db2 13 at function level 502 or higher, complete the following steps:

When you run the installation CLIST before you install Db2 13, specify V13R1M5nn in the TARGET FUNCTION LEVEL field on panel DSNTIP00, where 5nn is 501 or a higher available function level that you want to install.
For a list of the available function levels, see Db2 13 function levels.
Optional: Check that Db2 is ready for function level activation by issuing the following ACTIVATE command with the TEST option:

-ACTIVATE FUNCTION LEVEL (V13R1M5nn) TEST
```
Db2 issues message DSNU757I to indicate the results. For more information, see Testing Db2 function level activation.
Run the tailored DSNTIJAF job, or issue the following ACTIVATE command:

-ACTIVATE FUNCTION LEVEL (V13R1M5nn)
```
