z/OSMF templates for Db2 schema provisioning
You can use the z/OSMF templates for Db2 schema provisioning to provision and deprovision Db2 for z/OS schemas for database as a service (DBaaS) in private cloud environments.
The z/OSMF templates for Db2 schema provisioning support the following database schema provisioning as a service activities:
- Provisioning an empty database.
- Provisioning a sample database schema.
When used with IBM Db2 DevOps Experience for z/OS V1.1 with APAR UI63018, or later versions, the z/OSMF templates for Db2 schema provisioning also support the following activities:
- Provisioning a database schema like an existing source environment without data.
- De-provisioning to destroy the provisioned database schema.
When used with Db2 Administration Tool for z/OS V11.2 with APARs PI67731, PI72396, and PI76054 or later versions, and Db2 Cloning Tool for z/OS V3.2 with APAR PH00169, or later versions, the z/OSMF templates for Db2 schema provisioning also support the following activities.
- Provisioning a database schema like an existing source environment, with or without data, with support for the following activities:
- Refreshing data in a schema by copying it from the source environment.
- Taking snapshots of the provisioned database schema, with or without data.
- Restoring the provisioned database schema to a previous snapshot.
- De-provisioning to destroy the provisioned database schema and snapshots.
