SINGLE VOLUME field (SVOLARC subsystem parameter)
The SVOLARC subsystem parameter specifies whether Db2 is to use a single volume for disk archives.
Acceptable values: | YES, NO |
---|---|
Default: | NO |
Update: | option 43 on panel DSNTIPB |
DSNZPxxx: | DSN6ARVP SVOLARC |
- NO
- When archiving to disk, Db2 determines a count of candidate volumes, up to 15, based on the number of online volumes that have a use attribute of STORAGE for the specified UNIT name. If one or zero volumes are mounted with STORAGE as the use attribute, Db2 does not pass a volume or unit count, which is effectively the same as specifying SVOLARC=YES.
- YES
- Db2 specifies no unit or volume count. The result is the default unit and volume count of 1, unless SMS overrides it. Use YES for SMS-managed data sets. SMS provides the volume count from the data class. If no value is specified in the data class or no data class is assigned the default volume count is 1.
