When the installation CLIST is run in INSTALL mode or MIGRATE mode, the data set that is specified in the SAMPLE LIBRARY field is created. If the sample library data set exists, but some members of the data set are missing, you can run the CLIST in INSTALL mode or MIGRATE mode to replace the missing members.
Run the installation CLIST in ACTIVATE mode when you are activating a new function level. Run the CLIST in UPDATE mode when you need to update subsystem parameters. You do not need to run the CLIST in INSTALL or MIGRATE mode again before you run it in ACTIVATE or UPDATE mode. In ACTIVATE mode or UPDATE mode, you can specify an existing or a new sample library data set name.
If you do not need to keep the existing DSNTIJUZ member, specify the existing sample library data set name. The installation CLIST will overwrite the original DSNTIJUZ member.
- Rename the existing DSNTIJUZ member. When the CLIST runs, it generates a new DSNTIJUZ member. The renamed member has the same subsystem parameter values as the original DSNTIJUZ member, and the new DSNTIJUZ member has the updated subsystem parameter values.
- Specify a new sample library data set name. When the CLIST runs, it creates a new sample library data set. The DSNTIJUZ member in the new data set contains the updated subsystem parameter values.
