The TWOACTV subsystem parameter specifies whether Db2 maintains two active log copies.
Acceptable values: | 2 (YES), 1 (NO) |
---|---|
Default: | 2 (YES) |
Update: | option 8 on panel DSNTIPB; not during migration |
DSNZPxxx: | DSN6LOGP TWOACTV |
If you run the Db2 installation CLIST, the setting of the NUMBER OF COPIES field for active logs determines the setting of the TWOACTV subsystem parameter.
Valid values of the TWOACTV subsystem parameter are YES and NO.
- 2 (YES)
- Db2 maintains two copies of the active log. Dual logging increases reliability of recovery. If your Db2 subsystem creates copies of the archive log on tape, two tape drives must be available during the offload process. This setting corresponds with a value of YES for the TWOACTV subsystem parameter.
- 1 (NO)
-
Db2 maintains a single copy of the active log. This setting corresponds with a value of NO for the TWOACTV subsystem parameter.
