DISCONNECT IRLM field

The value of the DISCONNECT IRLM field determines whether IRLM is to automatically disconnect from the data sharing group when Db2 is not identified to it.

Acceptable values: YES, NO
Default: YES
Update: edit IRLM start procedure
DSNZPxxx: none
YES
Causes IRLM to disconnect from the data sharing group when Db2 is stopped normally or it stops as the result of a Db2 failure.

If you specify YES for the DISCONNECT IRLM field and YES for the AUTO START field on panel DSNTIPI, stopping IRLM does not require manual intervention.

NO
IRLM remains connected to the data sharing group even when Db2 is stopped. In this case, you must explicitly stop IRLM to bring it down.

This option has less impact on other systems when a Db2 fails because z/OS® is not required to perform certain recovery actions that it normally performs when IRLM comes down. Specifying NO can also mean that Db2 restarts more quickly after a Db2 normal or abnormal termination because it does not have to wait for IRLM to rejoin the IRLM data sharing group.

The associated IRLM PROC parameter is SCOPE.
